Introduction

In Jesus’ final words to his disciples he told them to make disciples of all nations, baptize them, and teach them to obey his commands (Matt. 28:19-20)。 Making disciples involves teaching. There could be no Christian church without teaching.

Therefore, most Christian leaders will be involved in teaching. This course will help you learn how to be a teacher. While there may be some people who have a natural talent for teaching, most of us need to learn how to teach. We will learn much about teaching in this book, and then you will continue to learn as you practice teaching. The Christian who teaches the Bible has only one purpose – letting the Bible’s message touch the hearts of people. Our job is not to improve on the message. We do want to explain the message in a way that others can understand it. We do want to help Christians apply the truths of the Bible to their own lives.
