The Gospel of John
Course Description
This 15-lesson course will cover the entire Gospel of John, focusing on the beautiful “I am” sayings of Christ in this Gospel. The course is intended to be taught one lesson per week. A final exam will be assigned at the end of the course.
Course Objectives
The objectives of this course are to help students

To become familiar with the content and themes of the Gospel of John.

To grow in faith through a study of John’s record of the life and teachings of Jesus.

To read through the entire book and apply it to their own life and faith.

To prepare students to correctly teach this Gospel to others.
Expectations of All Students
All students will be expected to read the assigned chapters of the Gospel of John and prepare a homework assignment (questions) prior to each class. It is expected that most classes will require about 1-2 hours of homework prior to class.
Requirements For Credit
In order to get credit for the completion of a course, the student must do the following:

Be in attendance for at least 75% of the instruction periods

Actively participate in the instruction periods when present

Complete on time and in a satisfactory manner any assignments and/or tests given by the instructor

Complete a final exam at the conclusion of the class.
Teaching Procedures
In each class the instructor will present introductory and background material on the chapters to be covered. Students will take turns answering the assigned homework questions to the rest of the class. Each class will end with the assignment of homework for the next class.
