Baptism for All Nations
Course Description
Although other GBI courses have a lesson or two on the subject of baptism, this course will cover the doctrine much more completely. Special attention will be given to the topic of the baptism of babies because this is a doctrine that is rejected by many false teachers.
Course Objectives
The objectives of this course are to help students:
- Be familiar with the Bible passages that teach the doctrine of baptism.
- Gain a better appreciation for the blessings of baptism.
- Be prepared to defend the doctrine of the baptism of infants with anyone who challenges it.
- Administer baptism in agreement with the Biblical principles.
Requirements
- This course is open to any GBI student.
- This course is an elective course in all three certificate programs.
- All students who enroll in this course should have a basic understanding of the Bible.
- In order to receive credit for this course, the student must be in attendance for at least 75% of the instruction periods, actively participate in the instruction periods when present, and complete on time and in a satisfactory manner any assignments and/or tests given by the instructor.

Lesson 2 = Ceremonial Washings and the Baptism Ministry of John the Baptist
Lesson 3 = The Baptism of Jesus
Lesson 4 = The Baptism Instituted by Christ
Lesson 5 = The Practice of Baptism among Early Christians
Lesson 6 = The Practice of Baptism Today
Lesson 7 = Baptism and Original Sin
Lesson 8 = Baptism and Faith
Lesson 9 = Performing Baptisms Today
Course Length
Lesson Format
- Printed lessons with discussion questions will be provided to all students prior to each class.
- Each class will be about 90 minutes in length. During class the students will be expected to fill out the lesson guide while the teacher lectures using a powerpoint.
- Homework assignments will be given after each lesson. Students are required to complete the homework and go through it with the teacher at the beginning of the next class period. The home preparation should take roughly an hour each week.
- At the end of the course a final exam will be given.
